BCRA is awarded $500 grant from Houghton Wal-Mart on 1/20/2018
Houghton Wal-Mart has awarded a grant of $500 to erect a new Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Repeater in Herman Michigan. (Baraga County)
This grant will ensure that Baraga County Repeater Association can pursue our goals in enhancing the communication gaps that exist in the Western Upper Peninsula, and to provide additional and or back-up communications during power outages or any other regional emergencies.
President Keith Almli said “Thank you to Wal-Mart of Houghton, MI for providing this grant, the money will be used to purchase a new repeater.”
Letters of thanks are encouraged to be sent to news outlets on behalf of BCRA.
Baraga County Repeater Association is seeking funding on a consistent basis for our Herman Project.

BCRA is awarded $500 grant from Upper Peninsula Power Company on 9/19/17
Upper Peninsula Power Company has awarded a grant of $500 to erect a new Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Repeater in Herman Michigan. (Baraga County)
This grant will ensure that Baraga County Repeater Association can pursue our goals in enhancing the communication gaps that exist in the Western Upper Peninsula, and to provide additional and or back-up communications during power outages or any other regional emergencies.

BCRA is awarded $500 grant from Upper Peninsula Power Company on 5/25/17
Upper Peninsula Power Company has awarded a grant of $500 to enhance Emergency Communications/APRS in Ontonagon County through Amateur Radio.
This grant will ensure that Baraga County Repeater Association can continue our vital work in enhancing the communication gaps that exist in the Western Upper Peninsula, and to provide additional and or back-up communications during power outages or any other regional emergencies.
Ontonagon County is home to 6,780 people and due to its rugged terrain, it suffers in regard to communication coverage by traditional means, especially in times of emergency

Baraga County Repeater Association was awarded $1,000 grant from The Baraga County Community Foundation on 5/9/17
Baraga County Community Foundation has awarded a grant of $1000 from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Health and Human Services Endowment Fund to enhance Emergency Communications in Baraga County through Amateur Radio.
This grant will ensure that Baraga County Repeater Association can continue our vital work in Baraga County to provide additional or back-up communications during power outages or any other regional emergencies.
Baraga County is home to 8,860 people and due to its rugged terrain, it suffers in regard to communication coverage by traditional means, especially in times of emergency
President Keith Almli said “We are delighted to be able to accept this grant, this grant is necessary to provide the necessary tools to perform our tasks to continue to build our networks, and provide education to those who want to be more involved with the building and setup processes.”
